Director's Notes
To date, this has been one of our favorite projects. While we cannot take credit for the creative—using footage from the original Frankenstein film to warn about electrical power lines—we are credited for taking the money line from voice over to re-creating the Frankenstein monster for its delivery. The DP and I spent hours choosing a shot of the original 1931 Frankenstein movie and recreated the shot, from look of the set to lighting. Once lit, we agreed that there was probably not a lighting instrument on our set that was less than 2 degrees off of the original lighting from the same scene in the movie. The makeup for Frankenstein was created by a quirky brother and sister team I had met when I directed my first feature project, part of a children’s action adventure series called Haunted. The project was the perfect calling card for the makeup team as it included many ghoulish makeup opportunities, as you can well imagine.
