I am John Magyar and my creative/production business is SilverLeaf Entertainment. My business has always been about helping clients, through media, find and fulfill visions and missions for their businesses and non-profit Christian and secular organizations. However, I have always been keenly aware that there are others, like me, who are students of their craft, some more advanced, others who are just getting started. If you consider yourself a student of production and are desirous of raising a business from your craft, this blog is for you. I don’t claim to be an expert but feel that after 30-plus years as a writer, producer, director, surviving in this business, and a seasoned traveler to over 30 countries to practice my craft, I hope you will find that I have something to offer you. I have also had great opportunities of working with some of the largest and most respected Christian and non-profit organizations. Before starting my business, about 25 years ago, I spent 6 years in two jobs with Christian organizations to develop media products and programming. I did have a brief stint, a few years back, managing a series of production offices across a region of states. That opportunity was all about mentoring, well, and writing policy and procedure. It was also about raising up a business where there was a business that couldn’t pay for itself. My business is based in Nashville, Tennessee, the hub of many Christian publishers and home to a church on every street corner. (this is a church-going town!) Thanks for joining me on this journey. Your feedback an opinions are welcome and encouraged.
